Two Skies Are Better Than One

Wow, what a busy Summer it has been! Fall has arrived and our favorite month of the year is right around the corner. We thought it would be a great time to finally update our site with some recent work.

October Skies Productions and Montana Skies teamed up again in late July/early August to film and edit 3 HD music videos for the cello/guitar/fusion duo. Over the years, October Skies and Montana Skies have worked on several projects, including a 3 camera production and edit for their 2008 concert at the Mable Barnes Amphitheatre. This time around October Skies produced promo videos for 3 Montana Skies’ songs. Each song was shot single camera with multiple takes, which were later synched in post-production along with a pre-recorded track of each song. October Skies also utilized a new orbital dolly to create dynamic and smooth camera motion during production.

We’re a Go With Project GO

In May, October Skies Productions and Mixed Bag Media completed a video project for the ROTC’s Project GO scholarship program. The 3 minute video profile features Georgia Tech ROTC student Ross Neuhart, who spent time abroad studying the Russian language and culture.

Jon Milavec of Mixed Bag Media produced, filmed & edited the piece. Location and green screen shots were captured in High Definition video on the Georgia Tech campus. David Robinson of October Skies Productions completed all motion graphics and green screen compositing. Personal travel photos, stock photography and stock footage were all used to help tell the story of Ross’ life changing experience in the Project GO program.

The video is posted on Georgia Tech’s School of Modern Languages website, which can be viewed here. In an effort to reach thousands of ROTC students across the country, the video will be featured on the Project GO website as well.

Green Screen Composite

Green Screen Production at October Skies Productions

Green Screen Setup at October Skies Productions

In the past week we’ve been working on a great project involving green screen production and compositing for our good friends at Investor Wealth Network. Just wanted to share an image of our simple setup for filming the talking head for this project. We’ll post a final comp and a short video clip soon.

Also, this is our first project using the Sony EX-1R HD video camera. The camera performed way above our expectations. Thanks to Justin Webb of J. Clarke Productions for access to this incredible camera!

And remember, it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg to produce and finish most green screen projects. Our rig is very portable too, which means in most cases, we can bring it to you!

Solo V2 – Product Demonstration Video

October Skies Productions is proud to announce our involvement in this product demonstration video for the Solo V2 blood glucose monitoring system. BioSense Medical Devices has developed a testing technique that simplifies the diabetic testing process for persons with visual impairment as well as other educational materials pertaining to diabetes. The Solo V2 blood glucose meter offers break through capabilities ranging from the largest display to fully audible technology.

October Skies Productions was responsible for all video production, video editing and motion graphics. We’d like to thank Scott Climes of BioSense Medical Devices for choosing us to be involved in such a great project.

RM Auctions 2010 Corporate Video

October Skies Productions and LiveWire Productions continue their relationship with RM Auctions by producing RMA’s 2010 coporate video – “Offering the World’s Finest Motor Cars.” LiveWire’s Jimmy Gyselinck wrote and produced, while OSP’s David Robinson was responsible for editing and graphics. This video incorporates pre-existing footage of multiple locations from RM Auctions’ broadcast television program, footage previously shot by OSP and LiveWire from Amelia Island, FL and multiple graphic treatments.

Montana Skies, The Parking Spot, CHAOS!

Montana Skies
October Skies Productions is very proud to announce the completion of the Montana Skies concert DVD. OSP supervised and directed a three camera shoot of the Montana Skies’ concert at the Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre in Mableton, GA. The three camera edit and DVD authoring were completed in November. Supplemental interview footage, shoot and edited by OSP, was also included on the DVD. The Parking Spot
In conjunction with Alliance Target Media, October Skies Productions continues to create quarterly updates to video loops that plays on LCD monitors in The Parking Spot’s airport shuttles. These videos consist of pre-produced advertisers’ commercials, stock photography, stock footage and pre-produced music. Each loop is customized according to The Parking Spot’s multiple markets and advertisers.

CHAOS
Produced by LiveWire Productions and shot and edited by October Skies Productions, this video was created as a marketing tool for the new monster truck attraction CHAOS. This massive truck was shot in Nashville, TN at event locations and the Nashville Motor Speedway. Graphics, effects and pre-existing monster truck footage was incorporated to convey the high energy appeal of this vehicle. CHAOS itself is a self-contained multimedia machine that can be used for company marketing, advertising and event purposes.

Monster Trucks & Classic Cars

Monster Truck Challenge
October Skies Productions completed video post-production work, including editing and motion graphics, for Monster Truck Challenge’s broadcast TV commercials. OSP streamlined the editing process, by providing the out-of-state client with online video approvals.
